Notes from the long way around.

Short pieces on craft, photography, building software, and paying attention to one place for a long time. No schedule — I publish when I have something true to say.

Why one site for everything

I kept the photographs in one place, the software in another, the bike stuff somewhere else, and for years that felt tidy. It wasn't. It was just hidden. Anyone who knew me knew the threads were connected — that the same patience behind waiting for an aurora is the patience behind shipping a tool that actually works, is the patience behind a long gravel day. Splitting them up was a way of pretending to be three smaller, more legible people.

So this is the un-splitting. Not a brand, not a funnel — an honest index of what one person spends his attention on, gathered where the connections are visible instead of buried. If that's useful to you, good. If it's just useful to me, that's reason enough.

What you'll find here over time: notes on what I'm learning making prints, the occasional thing I figured out building software for small businesses, and field notes from the saddle. Written when there's something worth writing down — and not before.
